How do I get to the sea FROM PODERE l’AGAVE?

Podere L’Agave is about 3 km from the centre of San Vincenzo and its beaches. It is on a hill, in the countryside, with the sun on the horizon dipping into the blue. It’s in the countryside but the joy of summer by the sea is closer than you think. Here is some advice on how to get to the sea.

By car

The car is the easiest way to get around. In five minutes you can get not only to the sea but also to the village supermarkets, the first restaurants and shops. There are many car parks, free in winter, but in summer they are mostly pay and display parking discs, so remember to read the signs carefully. In the centre, close to the beaches, there are car parks along the road, underground near the port, a large car park in Via Vittorio Emanuele II and another large car park, also free, above the station in Via Vecchia Aurelia from where you can access a raised pedestrian walkway that takes you back to the centre of the town itself. The convenience of a car also means that you can easily reach the beach at Rimigliano Park, along Via della Principessa south of San Vincenzo, with roadside parking available for a fee in summer (8 km from the Podere).

By bike

Cycling can be a good alternative for those who are already sporty or for those who want to experience the outdoors! It is easy to get to the sea, the road from the farm is downhill until the roundabout that leads to Via Vecchia Aurelia where there is a cycle path. In the summer you need to be careful when you arrive near the roundabouts in Via G. Matteotti and Largo Berlese because there is no cycle path there and the traffic can be heavy at certain times of the day. From the Largo Berlese roundabout, by now in San Vincenzo, there is a cycle path again, whether you prefer to go to the beaches to the north or to the south. Before returning, the advice is to drink a good glass of water because the road back to the Podere (strada San Bartolo) is a climb that slowly climbs up the hill. If you are not used to cycling, how about an e-bike, which could be useful! If you have very young children, the car is still the most recommended means of transport.

By foot

On foot it is a beautiful walk where your gaze passes from the olive groves, to the wheat fields in summer, to the houses in the town centre and then opens out onto the beach and the sea. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to San Vincenzo if you want to go to a nearby beach, but if you like walking and have time, you can go to the Parco di Rimigliano to the south for a bit of wild nature or to the Conchiglia beach resort to the north for a bit of calm and relaxation. On the way back, take a bottle of water with you in summer, as it can help you on the climb up Strada San Bartolo when temperatures are high. The route is all on asphalt anyway because there is no road through the fields on the hill to San Vincenzo.
