The parks are protected and safeguarded areas, rich in natural and archaeological treasures, a natural habitat for centuries for animal species from birds to rabbits, weasels, foxes, deer, roe deer, hedgehogs and boar.
Coastal Park of Sterpaia ( Piombino) and natural park Punta Falcone. Itineraries of notable naturalistic importance wind through the Punta Falcone park, routes that take you through history, through beautiful countryside or by the sea. The Sterpaia coastal park is a rare and precious wet forest, typical of the ancient coastal countryside of the Maremma, where you can find centuries old plants and some fauna. A system of sand dunes separates the forest of ashes and oaks from the sea, bordered by long white beaches. From here, following an evocative route through Spiaggia Lunga, Cala San Quirico, Buca delle Fate, you arrive at the Gulf of Baratti.
Coastal park of Rimigliano (San Vincenzo) Oasis of Flora and fauna by the sea which offers splendid walks in nature. With an area of around 120 hectares, 350 hectares of beach, dunes, pine groves and thick Mediterranean undergrowth. The stretch of sand is free beach and there are Punti Azzurri, which have various services.
The Archaeological park of Baratti and Populonia is the site of one of the most important contexts of the Etruscan civilisation in the enchanting environment of the Gulf of Baratti.
The Archeo-mineral Park of San Silvestro situated behind Campiglia Marittima, about 450 hectares. The routes wind through museums, and mineral galleries, a medieval village of miners and casters founded about a thousand years ago, and paths of historical, archaeological, geological and naturalistic interest.
Montioni natural Park appears like an island of green hills which extends for over 5000 hectares, where there are important archaeological and historical finds.
